Pro-teje · Protect life
Pro-teje means protecting by weaving community.
You don’t have to travel to be part of it: donate, sponsor a mangrove or take a piece of Plancton with you.

What we protect
The mangrove is the sea’s nursery.
Fish, shrimp and crabs grow among its roots. Those same roots slow the waves, protect the coast and store carbon (the gas that warms the planet).
It is one of the tropical forests that stores the most carbon. In San Bernardo it is also home and livelihood for the community, which is why we plant it with the people who live there.
Donate
With COP 10,000 we plant a mangrove.
Choose how many mangroves to plant, from COP 10,000. You receive a digital certificate with your name.
01
We plant with the community
In the archipelago, by the hands of the local community.
02
You receive your certificate
A PDF with your name arrives in your inbox once the payment is confirmed.
03
We tell you how it’s going
Every quarter we share how much was raised and what it was invested in.
In addition, 7% of every expedition booking goes to the Regeneration Fund.
Pro-teje Plan · Sponsorship
Sponsor a mangrove for a year.
We plant it, care for it and tell you how it grows, with a certificate in your name.
What your year includes
- Planting of your mangrove by the local community, in a restoration plot.
- 12 months of care: clearing the plot and protecting the mangroves.
- Free replacement: if any of them doesn’t survive.
- Quarterly monitoring of survival and growth, with photos.
- 4 quarterly reports by email: what was done, how the mangroves are doing and what was invested.
- Digital certificate with a number, a date and the plot where they grow.
- The weekly Destellos newsletter (in Spanish) and the report from every expedition.
- An invitation to visit your plot on one of our expeditions.

Why does it cost more than donating?
Donating is the planting: COP 10,000, one mangrove. Sponsoring is the whole year: besides planting it, we care for it for 12 months, replace it if it doesn’t survive and tell you how it’s doing.
More mangroves, better price: Brote (“sprout”) COP 60,000 (1 mangrove), Parche (“crew”) COP 250,000 (5, at COP 50,000 each) and Manglar (“mangrove forest”) COP 450,000 (10, at COP 45,000 each).

Frequently asked questions
Before you plant.
Where are the mangroves planted?
In a restoration plot in the San Bernardo Archipelago, together with the local community. Your certificate carries the plot code.
What’s the difference between donating and sponsoring?
Donating is the planting: COP 10,000, one mangrove. Sponsoring is the whole year, with care, replacement, reports and a certificate.
What if my mangrove doesn’t survive?
If you sponsored it, we replace it at no cost within the year and let you know in the next report.
When does my certificate arrive?
Once the payment is confirmed, as a PDF to your email. If you don’t see it, check spam or write to us at info@plancton.com.co. For now, certificates and confirmation emails are written in Spanish.
Can I give a mangrove as a gift?
Yes. When you sponsor, tick “It’s a gift”, write the recipient’s name and a message. If you give us their email, we send them a copy of the certificate.
Can I ask for a refund or withdraw?
Contributions are voluntary and non-refundable. The Pro-teje Plan starts as soon as the payment is approved (we issue your certificate and assign your plot), so the right of withdrawal does not apply; you accept this with a checkbox before paying. If something fails or doesn’t arrive, write to us through the requests, complaints and claims page (in Spanish) and we’ll sort it out.
How can I pay?
Debit and credit cards, Nequi, PSE, Daviplata, Bancolombia Button and Bancolombia QR, through Wompi. Paying from another country? Message us on WhatsApp and we’ll find the best way.
Plancton Shop
Pro-teje can be worn, too.
Caps, shirts, T-shirts, hoodies, bucket hats, tote bags and bracelets with the dot symbol. Choose your color and size and pay with Wompi.
Prefer to live it in person?
Travel with us to the San Bernardo Archipelago, plant your own mangrove and meet the plot where it grows.
