These terms explain how Plancton’s expeditions and services work. By booking or paying, you accept them. Read them calmly and write to us if you have questions. Courtesy translation: if this text differs from the Spanish version, the Spanish version prevails.

Who provides these services

Plancton is a regenerative tourism platform in the San Bernardo Archipelago, Colombia, operated by María Camila Carvajal Serna, a natural person registered in the National Tourism Registry (RNT No. 290217). Contact: info@plancton.com.co · WhatsApp +57 302 252 9741.

What we offer

Pacto Mar-a-Villa: 3-day, 2-night expeditions in the San Bernardo Archipelago, departing every Friday with groups of up to 10 travelers. You choose your starting point toward Tintipán: Muelle La Bodeguita (Cartagena), Muelle de Tolú or Muelle de Rincón del Mar. What each expedition includes and does not include is on the Expeditions page.

Who can travel

  • People aged 18 or over.
  • In good physical condition. You don’t need to know how to swim or snorkel: we go with you.
  • The expedition is not suitable for minors or for people with reduced mobility.
  • If you wish, please tell us about any allergies, dietary restrictions or health conditions we should know about to look after you. This is voluntary and we use it only for your safety. The other details we ask for must be truthful.

Bookings and payments

Prices are in Colombian pesos (COP). You pay through Wompi, Bancolombia’s payment platform, in two payments (deposit and balance) or in a single payment, and you can use the Bancolombia installments that Wompi has enabled; your bank handles the installments. You can pay the balance all at once or in partial payments, for the amount you prefer, from the Pay balance page. Your booking is confirmed when we receive the deposit or the full payment. The deadline for each payment is on the Book page. If you have a 10% discount coupon, it is single-use, cannot be combined with other promotions or other coupons, expires 6 months after you receive it, applies to your first purchase, is validated with the email it was sent to and is deducted from the total price of the expedition. We send you your traveler package once the trip is paid in full, with or without the discount.

Changes, transfers and cancellation

Our cancellation and changes policy applies. It explains how to change the date, transfer your spot and what happens if the group does not fill up. If you book online, you also have a right of withdrawal, as explained in that policy.

Special dates

Friday departures are confirmed with a minimum of 6 travelers, and you can book from 1 person. If you want to travel on another day, for example on a weekday, you can request a special date from the calendar on the Book page. A special date departs only if a group of at least 8 travelers is complete. If the group does not fill up, we offer to move you to the nearest next expedition or to the date that suits you best, within the following 3 months, and your payment carries over at no cost. We do not depart on December 25 or January 1. Details are in the special dates policy.

Expedition, weather and safety

Friday departures go with a minimum of 6 travelers and special dates with a minimum of 8; we confirm this 14 days before. We sail and do the activities only when the sea and the authorities allow it. Following the instructions of the team and the local guides is part of the experience and of your safety. Seeing the plankton glow depends on the moon and the sea, and we cannot guarantee it.

Insurance and risks

Each traveler has medical insurance for the trip, and we will share its conditions before the expedition. Activities at sea and in the mangroves carry the risks inherent to nature. By booking you acknowledge them and accept those that are inherent to the activity, without this limiting the responsibility that the law assigns to Plancton.

Caring for the territory and the community

  • Zero waste: what you bring, you take back. We leave no waste on the island.
  • We look after the mangrove, the reef and marine life and follow the guides’ instructions.
  • With the community: ask permission before photographing people. Buying from them directly (crafts, food) is always welcome.
  • Substances: we recommend not using drugs or alcohol during the expedition. Every person is an adult and responsible for their actions. Plancton is not responsible for anyone who, under the influence of substances, endangers their own life or the wellbeing of others.

The Pact and your symbolic square meter

The archipelago square meter is symbolic: it does not constitute ownership or any right over the territory. It is a commitment of care that we invite you to sustain for at least a year: following its growth, visiting it twice a year and protecting it in your own way (“pro-tejerlo”, protecting by weaving community). The Pact does not involve any mandatory additional payments. Any later contribution, such as donations or plans, is voluntary.

Regeneration Fund

7% of each booking goes to the Regeneration Fund, which supports initiatives defined together with the archipelago community. We share progress every quarter.

Photos and videos

During the expedition we may take photos and videos to tell the project’s story. If you prefer not to appear, let us know and we will respect that.

Your data

We handle your data according to our privacy policy (in Spanish).

Shop, donations and plans

The conditions for the shop, donations and the Pro-teje Plan are published alongside each offer. You can read them in the Shop terms and in the Terms for voluntary contributions and the Pro-teje Plan (both in Spanish).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Colombia, without prejudice to the rights the law grants consumers, including the possibility of going to the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce.

Changes and validity

We may update these terms when expeditions, starting points, prices or conditions change, and we will publish the new version on this page. Last updated: October 31, 2026.
